Sand Sculpture

I only discovered sand carving in 2020. I wish I had found it earlier! I relocated to Weymouth and bumped into the owner of Sandworld, Mark, who asked if I would like to give it a try. Since then I have been on an incredibly steep learning curve. I had many experiences as a freelance sculptor but sculpting in sand is a unique experience. Every type of sand is different, with its own qualities. There are no supports inside, and it does sometimes collapse. 
It is absolutely fantastic for working on a large scale, at speed, and recently I had the opportunity to travel to Denmark for my first international festival. One of the biggest!
